Our Approach

360° Counseling Care

Schedule Appointment

The Nourishment Center is an outpatient recovery center providing dynamic services to ensure patients and their families the greatest chance of a successful recovery. Counseling alone is not enough when overcoming an eating disorder. Both a team and creative treatment approach are necessary in accordance to research and evidence-based practice. When a family is guided by a professional team with access to therapy, medical management, skills, education, accountability and peer support, the treatment experience is transformative.

At The Nourishment Center assessment and treatment planning is designed to incorporate both in-house and in-community collaborative resources into the process. We are designed to be a team, a treatment family, with you for the whole journey. A clinician will assess your needs at your Intake Appointment. If you are a new patient, a level of care assessment (based on APA guidelines) will be conducted as well to make sure you are at the treatment level appropriate for your needs. If you are stepping down from a treatment center’s PHP program or transitioning from another provider, the intake process will be more about your continuing care needs.

More Than Outpatient

The Nourishment Center’s counseling services provide evidence-based psychotherapy for the treatment of a variety of mental health needs including:

  • General Counseling Support
  • Adjustment / Stressful Life Events
  • Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating
  • Trauma & Dissociation
  • Anxiety Disorders

Our licensed counselors utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and coping tools from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT).

Our Services

A Diverse Team of Experts

Eating disorders are complex mental and physical illnesses that require a team for effective treatment. That standard team is a therapist, dietitian, and medical doctor. Other specialists may be included as well. In higher levels of care treatment centers those team members are under one roof. In outpatient care that team can be difficult to manage as members could be fragmented physically and in communication.

The Nourishment Center has contracted in-house therapists and dietitians working in the same office, as well as group programming where all clinical staff are involved. So all patients have the opportunity to have a majority of their outpatient team in one place, making scheduling, coordination of care, team meetings and just familiarity easy for patients to access.

We are currently a staff of combined 45 years of experience in the eating disorder field and our love of learning keeps us passionate in improving services.

An Extensive Network

In addition, we collaborate “well and often” with external team members and resources. We connect our patients externally with professionals that we trust and have experience working closely with. If a patient comes to us with an external team in place, we welcome the new connection and immediately go to work with collaboration.

We are looking for skilled, creative, energetic and passionate professionals to join The Nourishment Center team. Are you interested? Let us know and tell us why! We will connect with you to discuss opportunities.

Are you a professional with eating disorder experience who wishes to join our referral network? Let us know and tell us why! We will reach out to set up a time where we can meet and discuss opportunities to serve our community together.
